The Aanii Nichii Drones Indigenous Community Aerial Initiative is working with community partners to secure funding to purchase a DJI Mavic 3T drone.
This will allow enhanced aerial photography, mapping and thermal imaging in support of non-profit Indigenous and non-Indigenous food sovereignty (community gardens), climate change concerns (thermal imaging and green space mapping) and community events.

Hwy 15 Indigenous Food Sovereignty Garden

Aanii Nichii Drones Indigenous Community Aerial Initiative focuses on four pillars:

  1. Indigenous Community & Right Relations with the Indigenous Community.
  2. Food Sovereignty
  3. Environmental Crisis Issues
  4. Green & Garden Space Accessibility

Aanii Nichii Drones volunteers flight time to the Katarokwi urban Indigenous community, Highway 15 Indigenous Food Sovereignty Garden, Little Forest, Loving Spoonful and other community gardens. This helps the community understand the rich culture, historical heritage, the interconnection to Mother Earth and all of our relations, to promote an holistic approach to food sovereignty, green space preservation and the relationship of this to cultural engagement and expression within the Indigenous community and with non-Indigenous community.

The Mavic 3 Enterprise Series redefines industry standards for small commercial drones. The Mavic 3T boosts mapping and mission efficiency to new heights with a mechanical shutter, 56x zoom camera, and an RTK module for centimeter-level accuracy. For nighttime operations, search and rescue, inspection, and combating fires, a thermal variant is available.
